Life is like a sewer; what you put in is what you get out.
Another gorgeous Arizona sunset |
It was obviously time for us to do a little cleaning. Quartzsite is known for lots of dirt and dust. The wind blows and everything gets full of fit. One of the first things we did when we moved to Yuma was get the car cleaned up. It definitely needed it. Next the ATVs had a good cleaning. It was time the motorhome got cleaned too. Terry picked up a brochure in the park office from a company that would come to the park and scrub it down. The appointment was set for Saturday . So, as the crew was cleaning the outside, Terry and I started working on the inside. It’s amazing how much nicer everything feels when it’s clean.
It was hot dog roasting time. |
Saturday night we were invited to a hot dog roast at Linda’s place in Yuma. It was a nice evening. We enjoyed being with friends and meeting new people. We also enjoyed the beautiful green grass. You don’t see a lot of that in the RV parks around Arizona.
Lots of good food was on the table. |
We also took a little ride off Sidewinder Road on our ATVs. We'd been down that road before. We had friends who had also been down that road. We figured if they could go down there in their motorhome, we could go down there in our ATVs. The problem is that when our friends went down in their motorhome, they got stuck in all the sand. It took a bit of work for them to get out of the sand. We didn't want to do that but just wanted to check it out. The sand was still there and in places it was a little deep. Riding in the sand is a little like riding in riverbeds. You kind of slide a little from side to side. It's not like being on the trails. I like the trails best. |
Carol roasting her hot dog. |
That was about it. We're enjoying full hookups and getting a lot done. We had so many things we needed to do while here that we had to make a list to make sure we didn't get sidetracked. It's only a few more days before we start on the road again.
Sure glad you didn't get stuck in the Sands ole sinking grounds.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to head to Yuma in March...if any of the gang is still there maybe we can get together.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels and keep it clean!
Thanks for letting us share the weinie roast. Love you guys.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE hot dogs. I remember all too well cleaning the MH after we left the Q. I found sand for months afterwards.
ReplyDeleteYes, better to do your off-roading in an ATV than in a motorhome. Although, it did give us a wild experience to talk about for years to come. :)
ReplyDeleteWish we could find a place to wash our RV. It always runs better when clean.
ReplyDeleteMay have to try one of those truck washes, we're finding the MH is so dirty it blends in with the ground and makes it hard to find when we come back after a day out...
