RV Life in Yuma

I'm a nobody .. nobody's perfect.  Therefore, I”M PERFECT!!!

Heidi does lots of tricks.  Isn't she a cutie?

We’re at it again.  Keeping busy is good but not all the time.  At least that’s what Terry tells me.  However, it’s much easier not to be busy when you’re someplace where you don’t know anyone.  We know people here.  When we know people I want to mingle with them especially since we know very soon either they will be heading out or we will.  Getting together doesn’t last forever.  Who knows how long it will be until we see these folks again?  We’re thinking most of them we won’t see until next year.  Ugh!
delcie
Delcie found her dream home.

So, after we arrived and moved into our full hookup site, we were off doing things we hadn’t been able to do in Quartzsite.  In addition to buying the new camera at Best Buy, we found a Home Depot, our bank, a Texas Roadhouse, an RV salvage yard and even a Da Boyz Italian Restaurant.  Oh … and we also found my cousin from Port Angeles, WA in his RV.
wrecking
Not too many of these were keepers.

A couple of years ago we visited the RV wrecking yard.  It was a blast going through there and checking it out.  At that time the yard was packed with vehicles and RVs.  That wasn’t the case this time.  Most of the yard was empty.  The vehicles parked had already been striped of most of their parts.  However, it was still fun going with the Prathers and the Lairds.  We did have a lot of laughs.  We also saw a lot of scary things such as one motorhome where the refrigerator was obviously the cause of the fire and had destroyed the whole RV.  When you see something like that it makes you realize how fast the RV can go up in flames.

Wednesday evening we were on our way to Da Boyz to meet five other couples for dinner but made a little detour to visit cousins, Wally and Susie.  It was just a short chat but we’ll be back or something like that.

We had met our group at Da Boyz last year. It was great then and it was great this time too.  We have been lucky to be able to enjoy several great meals with folks.  The only thing that has topped those meals are the people we’ve been able to share the meals with.  This evening was no exception.
swap
Arizona outside swap meet.

Thursday it was off to the Arizona Swap Meet.  We also found a new one.  This wasn’t here last year.  It’s the new Indoor Marketplace.  We browsed the cute little items for sale but didn’t end up purchasing very much.  Sometimes it’s just more fun to look and much cheaper too.

Later in the day we had another party at the Prathers.  The Prathers have a gorgeous Mobile Suite 5th wheel.  The wind was blowing and so we all figured having a campfire was probably out of the question.  Thus, 12 of us crowded into their RV.  Can you believe we all made it, had room for chairs, enjoy snacks, appetizers and still had a great time?

There were 12 people in the Prather's 5th wheel.

Next on the list is a party at Joe’s place on Saturday.  Then, on Monday it’s a barbecue at our place.

‘Tis a great life on the road.

Check out when the Lettuce Festival is taking place. We went there after the Q in 2010. We had a great time. Lots of good entertainment and good food. Enjoy.
