Bradley Trails and A Gem of Park

A smile happens in a flash but its memory can last for a lifetime.

Friday we took a little trip.  It wasn’t a long trip. We certainly know what long trips are all about.  This one was just about 33 miles.  There were some trails that we wanted to check out.  It had been raining the day before but this day was just beautiful.  It was a great day to do a little exploring.

The trails in this location are so different than the trails we had been riding on in Arizona, California and Utah.  We rode in the desert and we rode on the dunes.  These were wooded and in the forest.  Matter of fact, they were very wooded.

I think we’d best take bread crumbs with us when we ride these trails especially since I still haven’t figured out how to follow the waypoints back on the little trail GPS I bought. Getting lost in the woods would not be a fun thing to do. At least if we were lost on the dunes we’d probably be able to see our way out. This might not be the case in Washington. These trails are definitely different than the trails in the deserts of the Southwest.  We are excited and looking forward to our first riding adventure with family.  It'll be another family adventure and we so look forward to those.  First nice weekend and we're on it!  Well, we hope we are.

Afterwards we made a trip by County Line State Park.  The drive from Bradley Trails to the park was gorgeous.

This is a little RV park we have stayed at many times.  We love it.

Notice how all the waterfront sites are empty!

The cost is $10 for electricity and water with a dump on site.  The park is about ten miles (or so) off of I-5.   You can park your RV on the edge of the water and view all the ships going to Portland from the Pacific Ocean. It’s a great place to spend a little time and I’s a perfect location on your way to or from the beach.  I’m sure we’ll be there for a few days this summer.  We’re just not sure when.  When the salmon are running this place fills up on the weekends.  There are no amenities but just a wonderful view.

PS:  Remember my previous post that we didn't know what we were going to do about selling the cabin?  Shall we or shall we not.   This is IT.   Remember that?  Well, we now know what we're going to do.  Stay tuned.

‘Tis life on the road.

  5. You surely get around on your ATVs. Beautiful area.
Staging: Is that like a mounting stone? Or just to get a cooler picture when the vehicle is up with it's front? You see we are not ATV' ers. :))

  6. Just take a chain saw with you ATVing in the woods. Drop a tree here and there along the way and you'll have no problem finding your way back.

Who needs a GPS anyway? Low tech is the way to go.
