Gathering Around the Campfire

What I like about camping is you can get really dirty.  Either you're all by yourself, so no one else sees you, or everyone you're with is just as dirty as you are, so nobody cares.

Last night we had our first Quartzsite campfire.  Firewood is a little sparse here and definitely not cheap.  Between a few of us we have been able to collect a little wood.  A campfire is the finishing touch on getting together with friends in Quartzsite.

Sandie commented on how I had been able to consolidate so many things we had done into one blog.  It’s called summarizing.  Actually things were moving so fast that the only way to get current was to chop it all down and put it into one.  I had to summarize.  The chance of anyone wanting to hear about the runs into town and the conversations with others sitting in a chair and soaking up the sun could get a little boring.

The days are mostly gorgeous and warm once we get past the early morning and night time chills.  We bundle up in the morning and then take most of it off before noon.  As a matter of fact, the weather is almost near perfect.

More and more vendors are starting to show up.  The lots are getting full and parking spots are a little harder to come by.   However, this place is only going to get busier.  We have a couple more RVs moving into our little group today.  The Lairds are finally arriving after a major adventure.  They lost TWO tires off of their 5th wheel just a bit south of Seattle.  Toni watched while Doug crawled underneath to keep it level while the rig was starting to tip!!! 

Terry and I finally got a chance to go for a little ATV ride.  Check out this double decker trailer that we saw on our ride.  It’s even taller than the motorhome that pulls it.

Guess where we ended up on our ride.   I took a picture of the sign but Terry insisted on posing with it. This sign was at the opposite end of the area.  Did we see the entrance sign when we entered it?  Of course, we did but we just ignored it.  And, NO I didn’t Photoshop those clothes on him.  He was actually wearing them.  Hmm ... or was it the hat I didn't Photoshop on him?  Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter but I just knew I had to keep this blog rated "G".

There is a section on this BLM called the Magic Circle.  It is the local nudist area.  All is welcome but they do have a dress code.  Or, is that an undress code? We didn’t’ stay long enough to check it out though.  We checked it out a little.  We tried to look like we were looking straight ahead as we rode through.  Well, maybe I should say I tried to look like I was looking ahead.  I have good peripheral vision though.  However, I was much faster getting through  than Terry.  I had to wait for him to catch up.  I wonder why.
