Every summer has a story.
Recognize this? Certainly you do. It’s a school bus loading children. How can you tell he’s actually loading children? It’s because the lights are on and the stop sign is out. At least that’s what we thought it was. That’s what we all think it is when we see a school bus such as this.
That wasn’t the case in this instance. This school bus driver was having a nice long chat with a neighbor. We sat waiting for a very long time (totally annoyed) even after seeing them as we were driving towards them. The sign was out and the lights were on but we never did see a child load. I’m sure there must have been children at some time. There just must have been but this was all about the conversation with the very senior neighbor. What can you do? Nothing but wait. That we had to do and the bus driver shook his finger at us as he finally drove by.
We had just stopped by Tammi’s to pick up our trailer. We needed it for our projects. She had needed it for their projects. And, the work goes on. This is what we’ve gotten ourselves into.
Even Duchess is confused with all the work needed. |
The trailer has turned into a gem for hauling stuff other than the ATVs. We’ve used it for pavers, sand, boards and storage shed move-outs.
Check out the broom standing all by itself. Is it the broom? Is it the specific day of the year or is it just luck?
The building had been partially completed. The outside was fine but the inside needed work.. Instead of trying to figure out what to do or how to do it, we got a contractor to straighten it out for us. We wanted a good job. Isn't that what contractors are for?
Dish antenna had to be reset several times but now it is firmly in place.
The bricks used for the outside fire pit had to be moved.
A perfect little summer hideaway in back also has room for a little greenhouse. However lots of cleanup needed here.
Duchess and I took a break and went for a short walk around the corner. This was our view.
In addition to the contractor, we’ve ordered backhoe work and asked for gravel to be delivered. That was three weeks ago. Hopefully, they’ll get to it this summer before we’re out of here.
‘Tis life on the road.
HAHAHA...that broom cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a good think the inside isn't completed. You can now make it your own. Do whatever you like to fit your needs.
The outside looks neat. You have the exact chair I have. It looks lovely there.
Remember work is a 4 letter word. You are retired and can slow down and smell the roses. You even have time to wait on school buses. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful place with a beautiful view.
You make me tired just reading your blog. Stop working so much already!
ReplyDeleteRemember, you have a contractor right at the ends of your fingers. One with 45 years of experience and free.
ReplyDeleteHuh, you are back working...at your new home. Congrats to that! Looks very nice. And the view!!! Wow.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you get yourselves into this time? That looks strangely like WORK!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I see a trailer rental business in your future. ;c)
Work, work, work. Keep it up so when we get out there again it's all ready for us to party. Love the views.
ReplyDeleteCertainly keeping youself busy there. But don't forget to take a bit of time and enjoy the view.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the view....good job.
