Where is our Perfect Place

SHollow0il3_thumb7Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.

We all have a place.  It’s a place we remember because at the time we were there everything was perfect.  At least most things were perfect.  It might have been perfect weather.  It might have been the lack of stress.  It might have been the one huge site you were allowed to park in.  It might have been the neighbors.  Whatever the reason at the time you were there it was a perfect place.

Have you ever gone back to the place that in your mind was the perfect place only to find it really wasn’t so perfect?  Or, have you gone to a place that wasn’t so perfect when you were first there only to discover because of the different elements of nature or location .. it was perfect this timeRV2?

There are just some places we’ve been that we loved just being there.  We remember and often think of how nice it was.  We have stayed in a lot of campgrounds.  The memories of some of these campgrounds come and go just as the wind does.  Others stick around for a much longer time.  There was just something about the time, the place or even the people that made certain places more special than other places.

Just because we revisit specific places or parks doesn’t mean it’s that perfect place.  Sometimes we go back because it’s a good alternative to other places in the area.  Not every place is a perfect place.  Matter of fact, most places aren’t perfect places.  Some may stand out because of the location and others because of the experience.  Sometimes our first impressions change the longer we stay in a place.  The perfect little camping site may not be the perfect little site the RV3longer you stay.

We have gone back to the same parks several times.  It doesn’t mean it’s a great park.  It means the location works or maybe it’s the price while in an area we want to be.  We’re still searching for the perfect place.

It’s hard to think of the perfect Garden of Eden without full hookups.  However, many times those places just seem to be the places we like best.  Maybe, just maybe, that’s why we haven’t found it yet.  We’ve been looking in the wrong places.  We’ve been looking for something that isn’t there.

Obviously, for us  ...  the search is still on.  Where is that Perfect Place?

‘Tis life on the road.

  2. Beautiful header photo.
We have found many perfect places with different definitions. There are those in the mountains, by the water, in Texas, desert area, etc. When people ask us where is your perfect place, we have to ask them to be more specific.

  4. We've camped at a lot of perfect places I guess. I just wish some of them were a bit closer so we could return easily and often.

  5. We have found wherever we go is perfect as long as we have each other, our rig, decent weather and changing scenery. Just love the lifestyle.
